James A. Meechan

Irondequoit: Monday, August 30, 2021 at the age of 92. He is pre-deceased by his first wife, Kathryn Devereaux Meechan in 1964 and by his wife, Catherine O'Leary Cattalani Meechan in 2004. He is survived by his children, Anne (Ben) Giambrone, Rick (Lisa) Meechan, Paul (Cathy) Meechan, Bob (Terri) Meechan, Ellen (Don) VanArsdall, Mary (Andy) Hafter, Mary Jo Spallina, Tom Cattalani, Mark (Cally) Cattalani, Joe (Sue) Cattalani, Tricia (Andre) Rene, and Rob Cattalani; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Jim graduated from Aquinas in 1947 and Assumption College in 1952. He was awarded the Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star for his service during the Korean War.

Jim retired from the Rochester Telephone company in 1982. He enjoyed many winters in Florida, and spending time with his family. Jim was a kind and loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed, remembered and forever loved by all who knew him.

His family will receive friends Thursday, September 2, 4-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to meet the family Friday, September 3, 10:00 am at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church for his Funeral Mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hildebrandt Hospice Center, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623.
