Obituary of Luciano "Louis" Tremiti
Luciano "Louis" Tremiti
Greece - Friday, May 13, 2022 at the age of 83. Predeceased by his wife, Julie and brother, Fred. He is survived by his wife Joanne (Macaluso) Tremiti; his children, Michael (Donna) Tremiti, Alana (David) Tomer, Lisa Tremiti, Philip (Wendy) Tremiti; sister, Patricia Barone; grandchildren, Julianne, Carly and Gabrielle Tremiti, David, Emily and Matthew Tomer, Steel, Valor and Legend Tremiti; several in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Louis grew up in a Polish neighborhood in the Hudson Avenue area. He was the oldest of three children and frequently attended church at Holy Redeemer. At age 17, Louis joined the navy where he spent three years serving as a Seabee. After the Navy, Louis worked for Bausch and Lomb, and one of the most booming companies at the time in Rochester, Kodak, where he retired not once, but twice. Outside of his work life, Louis joined the Polish Falcons and was a dedicated member since he was very young. He embraced his Polish heritage and was always dedicated to his Polish community. He was president of Nest 52, and held many other offices for the Falcons. In addition to his dedicated time with the Polish Falcons, Louis enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, golfing, bowling, traveling (especially to his condo in Florida), and loved going out to breakfast (and making it!). Before, during, and post navy, Louis always emphasized his patriotism and loved his country. His passion for his country and political beliefs were contagious to everyone around him and he was very insightful. Over the course of his life, Louis has made many lifelong friends that will surely miss him forever. Louis appreciated little and all things life brought him, and truly seized every day he lived. Any time someone would ask him how he was doing he would reply “well, I got up this morning so it’s going to be a good day”. His passion, love, and energy will live on forever.
His family will receive friends Sunday, May 22nd from 3:00pm - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South).
