Obituary of Myron D. Lewis, Jr.

Lewis, Jr., Myron D. West Irondequoit: Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at age 97. Predeceased by his wife, Enid P. Lewis. Myron is survived by his sons, Mark (Margaret) Lewis, James (Pamela) Lewis: daughters, Deborah (Richard) Lewis Gorski, Nancy (Robert) Szymkowski; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; brother, David (Gladys) Lewis. At 18, Myron enlisted in the Marines, serving in the South Pacific in WWII. He married Enid G. Peck in August of 1947. Together they lovingly raised 4 children. Myron was a graduate of the Journalism School at Syracuse University and worked as an editor at Gannett Newspapers (Times Union) for 40+ years. Myron was a supportive, modest, charitable man who will be greatly missed by his family, church friends and the many lives he touched. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 25, 10:30 am. at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Please gather at main entrance by 10:20. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Wounded Warrior, P.O.
