Obituary of Evelyn N. Stateler

Evelyn died at age 94. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Jack, by son, Jay, and his daughters, Kristine (Andrew) Bernstein and Laura Stateler, and by daughter, Carol (Peter) Hausner, and her stepchildren and granddaughters.

Evelyn and Jack became Gold Life Masters as duplicate bridge partners. Evelyn – like Jack – was an active member of Irondequoit United Church of Christ. Well into her 70s, Evelyn and Jack traveled regularly to play bridge and expand their wisdom. To the very end, Evelyn was a vital, smart, caring, positive, humorous, and loving wife, parent, grand/step-grandparent, and friend.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Harris Funeral Family Center, 560 Kings Hwy S, Rochester, NY 14617 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on August 17. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Marvin Krieger officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to the Endowment Fund of the Irondequoit United Church of Christ.
