Andzer, Joyce V.
Fishers, Indiana and formerly of Irondequoit, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the age of 95. Predeceased by her husband, Abraham Andzer; son-in-law, Robert Cooley; brother-in-law, Arnold Andzer. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Janis Cooley; son, Steven (Judy) Andzer; grandchildren, Brian Cooley (Elizabeth Sullivan) and Erin Cooley (Timothy Brauner); brothers, Sid (Norma) Quaintance, John (Susan) Quaintance; sister-in-law, Norma Andzer; niece, Helena (Gerry) Holmes, nephew, Ashley Quaintance and great nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a WWII bride, who immigrated to the US at the young age of nineteen, after marrying the love of her life. Along with her husband, they raised two children in a warm and loving home. She enjoyed the simplicities in life that were afforded to a stay-at- home mom. Her pastimes were reading, cooking, knitting, Mahjongg with the ladies, and only the lucky ones could beat her in a game of Scrabble. Up until recently, Joyce took pride in knitting blankets and booties for those in need.
Nothing filled her heart more than her family, especially her grandchildren. When they were young, she loved over nights, trips to the zoo, marbles and games, and bearing gifts for the holidays.
She was always kind, respectful, and easygoing.
To those who loved her she was their world and will be greatly missed.
Services will be private, and once again, she will be joined alongside her husband.
