Ora and George were long-time friends of my parents, Jack and Shirley Spiggle. They all started out as neighbors on Villwood Drive. She was a very sweet lady. Our condolences to the Power family!

Ora is a memory from the past. I met Ora back in the early 70's when I was a RN on the Infant/toddler unit at Strong Memorial .Hospital. Ora would come in 1 or 2 mornings a week to help us out with the the care of our babies. If I remember correctly, she had a year of nursing school but had left to marry her sweetheart. Because of that training she was able to do temperatures and some other care of our babies. She was so gentle and loving with those children, and we loved seeing her smiling face. I'm so sorry for her loss, but what a full life she lived. A very special lady.

My condolences to the family of Ora. I have very fond memories of working with Ora as she volunteered on the infant and children's unit at Golisano Children's hospital over 40 years ago. I was new in my nursing career and was in awe of her comfort with working with the children and their families. She was a Godsent helping bathing, rocking and playing with the children, as well as, giving comfort to the parents while their child was hospitalized. Mr and Mrs Power were such kind and welcoming hosts to us teenage girls. Mr Power was always coming up with new bread recipes; a particular favorite of mine was “Swiss Mystery Bread.” Mrs Power painted the most exquisite watercolors; I was entranced by them and she was so modest. I enjoyed spending time at their house, with warmth and art and music and I keep these memories close to my heart. My deepest sympathies to you all.
