Obituary of Robert Lee Clement

Robert Lee Clement, age 71, of Rochester, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Bob is predeceased by his father, Joseph Ratelle, Jr., and his mother, Rita (Trim) Groell. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Rivers, his son, Chad Howell, his grandchildren, Madison Howell and Brennen Howell, his significant other, Beth Ann Pesce-Lynch, siblings, Katherine (Jeff) Strainer, Joseph (Ann) Ratelle, Timothy Ratelle, Rita McLean, Walton “Rip” Groell, Christine (Dominic) Quartieri, Frank (Tracy) Groell and Michael Groell, many nieces and nephews, and several dear cousins.

Bob was born in Saranac Lake, NY. He moved to Rochester with his grandmother, Louise Ratelle, and attended Benjamin Franklin High School. Bob loved the outdoors and his heart was always in the Adirondacks, so he spent most of his life there. He was a dedicated employee at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort for 35 years during the winter and worked odd jobs during the summer months. In his free time, Bob enjoyed riding his Harley, attending classic car shows, browsing thrift stores, going to casinos, and listening to music. Bob also loved nature and animals, but most importantly, he cherished spending time with family and friends, especially his cousins at the old camp when they were kids.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff in Oncology, ICU, and Comfort Care at Rochester General Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care Bob received.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will immediately follow.
