I did not know Ray but my father did. My father volunteered at St. Andrews food cupboard along with Ray. I remember him saying what a kind man he was and describing him as a saint.

I have fond memories of Ray as a bridge player who would play with my grandma, Clara Bell. Occasionally, as a young kid, I would try to play and Ray would be so patient with me as I messed up frequently. May Ray rest in peace.

Ray was one of my first supervisors at Kodak and certainly one of the best. He was an even better person. My wife and I always had lunch with Ray and other Kodak retirees when we returned to Rochester. I have wonderful memories of Ray.

Uncle Ray
Great Uncle Ray was my godfather. I cannot think of a single person who could have fulfilled that role in my life better. Uncle Ray was truly a Christian in every sense. He used a precise moral compass to guide his life, and he did not hesitate to share this guidance with others. He didn’t just know the Scripture, he lived it. When I think of Uncle Ray’s life I can’t help but think of the parable of the sheep and the goats. We all have a story of a time he gave us food, invited a stranger in and made them feel at home, clothed us, took care of us when we were sick, and/ or visited us when we were alone. He took care of his parents, brothers, nieces and nephews, their children, and their children’s children. The only quality I can think of that rivaled Uncle Ray’s generosity was his humility. He left an impression on everyone who knew him. He will forever have a place in our hearts.

Dear Family of the Incredible Ray Klem -
I am proudly a great-granddaughter of Bernard Klem and have spent many happy times in Ray's home reminiscing about the "good old days" when all of the Klem children were alive and well. My grandmother, Flora Klem Farrell, was Bernard's eldest daughter and instilled in us our proud heritage of which Ray often spoke.
The last time I saw Ray was last year at this time when I flew to Rochester (from Charlotte, NC where I now live) and pulled up in Ray's driveway. He was his usual gracious self and we spent two hours talking in that beautiful living room.
I offer you my deepest sympathy on Ray's passing and, in addition, send you sympathy messages from my sisters, Pattie Farrell Broome (in Charlotte) and Marcia Farrell Miller (in Heaven.)
We loved Ray.
Deepest condolences,
Marilynn Farrell Bowler
