It's me , again. I wanted to share a couple more memories. Jeanne would freely give you anything she had. Including her roof over your head if you needed it. She took in some of her grandchildren for awhile, took in my youngest brother, Chris for awhile. Wanted him to stay even after daddy died. Inspite of often having an overflowing house, she always invited me to stay for a few days, when I was in town and always found me a bed in her little house. She never asked for anything in return. Always gave whatever she had freely and wholeheartedly. She never judged anyone. She just lived her life the best she could and if life handed her a bushel of lemons, she cheerfully made lemonade!!
Also, she was intensely loyal. And loyal to our dad's memory. And when he had to go into long time skilled nursing care, she sat and visited with him all day for a few years until we begged her to keep doing the things she liked. She finally cut down to half days, but visited every day!! She was his sunshine and he was hers. She told us more than once how much happiness he had brought HER, when we tried to thank her for her care of him!!
Also, I'm a crossword puzzle afficiando. Daddy took to cutting the puzzles from their papers, and sending them to me in ab large envelope decorated with his clever drawings. After daddy died, mamma Jeanne took it upon herself to keep this up, apologizing for her lack of artistic talent, but decorating every envelope with pretty colored stickers! What an amazing woman! We are all so lucky to have had her in our lives and she will be sorely missed on this earth! But she has certainly earned her reward in heaven! Rest in peace, mamma Jeanne. Our love and gratitude go with you!!
