I met Betty while being a buddy to another resident at SAH during COVID. Betty was so helpful to me and always had a positive outlook and her smile could light up the room. She truly was a special lady and will be missed. Thankful I was able to meet her during the pandemic. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the days to come. I attended Rogers Middle School from 1973-1977. I was a student library aide and Mrs. Kowalik was the secretary in the library with Mrs. Folsom (the librarian). Mrs. Kowalik was always pleasant, friendly, and cheerful. She transferred to the main office--she was a hard worker and very efficient so I was not surprised. In later years, while visiting my parents, I would see her at St Margaret Mary Church. On one occasion I was fortunate to sit next to her and we had a pleasant conversation before church. She was in contact with practically the whole staff at Rogers and updated me---much to my delight. My mother just remarked at how much she liked Mrs. Kowalik. She most definitely will be missed. Betty was my school secretary at Rogers Middle School for many years. She was always kind and helpful to me and I really enjoyed her sense of humor. Betty will be missed.
