Carol was a faithful, talented, loving, woman whom I was blessed to know, work with, and be friends with for the 10 years that I lived and worked in Irondequoit, NY. I am stunned by the news of her death, and I love and remember her children, Jeff and Sara, and Jeff's wife, Sarah. I had the honor of presiding at their wedding. Carol was a smart, gifted, giving woman, and she loved and honored God in all she did, including loving and caring about everyone around her, most especially her beloved children. She was, to me, a beloved friend and colleague. She was a phenomenal organist and I was blessed by her talent, enthusiasm, dedication, and faithfulness to the word of God and the love of God. She also introduced me to the peaceful worship of Sunday evening Compline at Christ Episcopal Church in Rochester. Her love and faithfulness will carry on through her children and grandchildren. God grant her peace as well as access to many pipe organs in heaven. I look forward to seeing and hearing her in heaven someday. My love is sent to and prayers are lifted for Jeff (Sarah) and Sara, and all the grandchildren as they miss their mother and grandmother and celebrate her Home-going in Christ her Lord. God keep you and guide you in His love and the love your mother showered upon you.

Condolences to the family. Carol, or as I used to call her, Mrs. Cowan, was a fantastic teacher throughout high school; I couldn't believe how much she used to accomplish and how much the students learned from her. School fashion shows, restaurants, and "those babies." She didn't miss a beat! She became a mentor of mine and helped me begin my own Family and Consumer Science teaching career. Carol shared with me her talents in playing the organ and needlework, but it was evident she took the most pride in her children. Praying for the family at this time. Thank you, Carol.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember visiting Carol in Columbus while she was attending OSU. Prior to that when she was the organist at the church, I had mentioned how I enjoyed classical organ music so she invited me to the church in Urbana for a private concert. She played Toccata and Fugue in D minor and it was such a treat. May she rest in peace.

Carol did so much for so many. She was an excellent teacher and sent many on a path with new sewing skills including career choices to the Fashion Institute of Technology. Students enjoyed her food and nutrition classes and had fun creating a restaurant to serve faculty on a special day. Parenting classes left her classroom with a diaper bag, infant carseat, and a doll that cried when it needed to be fed, burped, changed and recorded your attention to its needs. So many students were blessed with so many skills because of Carol. She always had a smile for you. It was an honor to teach with her and she will be missed.

I am so sorry to learn of Carol"s death. She was a good friend and a fine musician. Subbing for her at the organ at her church was a delight as she always had made preparations for me to fill in. Her dedication to the American Guild of Organists was exemplary as she served as our Dean and wrote articles about our activities for The American Organist for many years. I will miss her smile and her positive attitude toward life. My deepest sympathy to her family.

I loved Carol! She was a force for good in our community. She attended Compline at Christ Church where I direct the Schola Cantorum. I would see her there each week with her dear friends and I would chat with her after Compline and we would always laugh about something. She was a dear friend who loved music, but loved her family above all else. She would always tell me about the joy that her family members brought to her. Her smile was radiant and I will always see it in the candlelight. My deepest condolences to each of you in her family. Stephen Kennedy
