My father, Claude Air Johnstone, was Shirley's cousin. I remember that when we were young, my family would go to Uncle Ike and Aunt Jean's for Easter dinner. Shirley was there, of course, and a Boston Terrier whose name I can't remember. My Gramma Nana, Mary Air Johnstone, was Jean's older sister. I have vivid recollection of the house on Titus Ave. and its woodwork. Mary had softened her Scottish brogue but Jean had kept hers and sometimes I couldn't understand what she was saying. Shirley and my dad were the interpreters. I remember Shirley as enjoying our company as children, or at least putting up with the four of us. I moved out of Rochester in 1980 and when I returned many years later I contacted Shirley. We corresponded a few times and she told me of her travels.
I am interested in reconnecting with any of my Air relatives, if you would be interested also. I know little about my father's family and background.
