Obituary of Douglas A. Schoenweitz

Schoenweitz, Douglas A. Irondequoit: Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the age of 81. Douglas was recently predeceased by the "love of his life," his wife, Nancy Hinton Schoenweitz. Douglas is survived by his children, Jon (Jennifer) Schoenweitz and Christine (Jeffrey)Riesenberger; beautiful grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Riesenberger and Lily and Jack Schoenweitz; his caring and compassionate sister, Carolyn Fox (David Parsons). Doug was an extraordinary man of simple ways. A slight man who cast a large shadow over those who had the privilege of his friendship. Born and raised in Rochester NY, Doug spent his entire working career as a loyal patriot of Eastman Kodak Company. Photography permeated his soul, and became a time capsule for all the wonderful friends and trips he made over his lifetime. Although many people pass through life in relative obscurity, Doug will be remembered as something of an urban legend to all that knew him. He lived vicariously through his children's athletic, academic, and career accomplishments. He developed a passion for landscaping and gardening later in life, and transformed his yard into a living monument. The twilight of Doug's life was consumed by being a proud grandfather to his four lovely grandchildren who carry his DNA in every bounce of their step and the warmth in their hearts! Services will be held privately.
