Hubert H. Velepec

Irondequoit: Friday, December 15, 2023 at the age of 93. Predeceased by his brother, Douglas. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Audrey; sons, Jeffrey (Nina) Velepec and Scott (Valerie) Velepec; grandchildren, Taylor, Bayleigh and Braeden Velepec, Brianna (David) Forbes, and Alex Velepec; great grandson, Jaxson.

A graduate of Irondequoit High School, Hubert went on to Valparaiso University to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to graduating, he served as a Corporal in the Army and fought in the Korean War. After graduating, he married Audrey and moved back to Rochester, NY where he joined the Upson Brothers to manage their sales of hand tools manufactured by the R J Velepec Co. which was started by his late father. Hubert eventually acquired the company and continued his position until he sold the business and retired.

Retirement for Hubert meant spending summers at the family camp in the Adirondack's.

A life-long Lutheran, he was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He also had a long tenure as a member of the Rochester Rotary Club, joining in 1959. He previously served as President of Rochester Rotary from 1986-1987 and has been recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow.

Hubert's Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 20th, 10am at Faith Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rochester Rotary Charitable Trust, 180 Linden Oaks #200, Rochester, NY 14625, Faith Lutheran Church or Hospice Care.
