Obituary of Lynn Stanzel
Rochester- January 31, 2024 at the age of 76, passed peacefully after battling illness. Predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Walter Stanzel; brother, Kenneth (Linda) Stanzel; grandmother, Hattie Baker. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Mahanger, Heidi (Aaron) Bishop, and Todd Stanzel; grandchildren, Joseph (Caitlyn), Brianna, Katelynn, Chloe, Juliet and Jonah; sister, Pam (Peter) Elder; former wife, Joyce Stanzel; former son-in-law Mark Mahanger, and many nieces and nephews.
Lynn grew up in Churchville, NY and graduated from Monroe Community College. He worked for the Rochester City School District and Monroe BOCES 1, where he dedicated 49 years of service until his retirement in June 2017. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and computers, and rarely passed up an opportunity for a good dad joke, western movie or veal parm. Lynn was always up for a road trip, whether it be helping his in-laws to Florida every year, heading to Cape Cod to ride the dunes in his Jeeps, or visiting all of the continental states.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 18, 1-3pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.), immediately followed by the service at 3:00 pm. Private internment to be held in the spring.
