Obituary of Timothy D. Young
Timothy D. Young “Tim”….Tim is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janet; his children, Nathan (Kelsey)Young, Sarah (Eric) Thornton and Merci Young (Peter Miller fiancé), grandchildren Rory D Thornton and Declan M Young; brother Vance “Bud” (Evie) Young and Frederick “Rick”(Shirley) Young; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Tim enjoyed watching his children’s sporting events and was very proud of all their achievements. He too was an gifted athlete and played well into life-well at least his 40’s-both baseball and football.
He enjoyed so much the yearly family vacations to Keuka Lake and would spend hours and hours fishing off the dock-but also would venture out on the boat with his brother in law to fish in the early mornings and later evenings. He never was a very good swimmer but was happy to go out in the boat with them anyways.
He enjoyed listening to music and quizzing his children on music trivia. He took great pride in his vegetable garden and loved to drink his craft IPA’s after a long days work. An avid outdoorsman, he would spend hours walking the trails in Durand Eastman park with his dog Tucker (and occasionally Ollie) searching for golf balls.
Tim attended the University of Dayton where he graduated with a degree in Business Marketing. He has many fond memories of his brothers in Delta Phi fraternity.
Tim loved being of service to others and found great joy and fulfillment in helping others. He would always be there for a helping hand to his children, friends, family and any one who was in need. He was a selfless man.
Tim you will be sorely missed. You were such a strong man and fought such a hard battle to the end. We will never forget nor will we never forget to honor your selflessness. Rest in peace love.
Tim’s family will receive friends Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Services and interment will be held privately.
