Obituary of Joan M. Chopan

Joan Marie Chopan, née Snyder, 78, of Irondequoit, NY, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024.

Joan was born on November 12, 1945 to Raymond and Ruth Snyder in Mt. Morris, NY. After Joan graduated from Mt. Morris Central School in 1963, she went on to receive her nursing degree at Monroe Community College in 1977.

In 1980, Joan married Stephen Chopan. Joan and Steve went on to have two sons, Jonathan Dibbs Chopan and Jeffrey Allen Chopan.

Joan worked at Rochester General Hospital where she retired in 2012 after nearly 40 years in nursing.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Ruth; sister, Jean; and nephew, Tommy. She is survived by her sons Jonathan, wife Christina; Jeffrey, wife Victoria and daughter Addison; ex-husband and dear friend Stephen; sisters Judy and Joyce; and brother Butch.
