Dear Diane and the entire Palmiere family,
Sometimes it's hard not to wish for one more day, one more word, one more chance to say goodbye. The sudden loss of Gary was a shock to us all. We've known Gary for about 65 years. Gary was in our wedding. Many years have passed us by and we lost contact. We did attend the Skinny's first reunion and then we lost touch until a few months ago when Gary contacted my husband to join him and the guys from the old neighborhood, for lunch every Wednesday, going to different restaurants around town. We are so glad that he did reconnect with Dick. On Sunday August 11th, we went to the Skinny's last reunion. It was such a great and special day connecting with all our old friends. Many years ago, Ronnie Culiano sent a picture to Gary, and Dick, when the 3 of them graduated from 39 school, 7th grade. Sunday at the reunion, Gary, Ronnie and Dick captured that picture again. Gary was excited to have the picture of the 3 of them, During times of loss we find ourselves troubled by things we do not understand. There are no answers to comfort your grief, only lasting love and precious memories. Rest in Peace Gary, May angels hover over those who are grieving. Our sincere condolences, Anna & Richard Dattalo

Gary and I go way back to when we were teens. We lost contact for many years, but it was my good fortune to reconnect with him when we both worked at Shear Ego. Many found memories of Mom, Dad sisters and brother.
Rest in peace Gary. You were a great guy.

I will never forget when I met with Gary to rent my first space. After asking way to many questions, all Gary said was “Don’t rock the boat. We are a family here at Tangles”.
Gary Palmiere will be forever in my heart as an ICON in the Rochester beauty industry.
I owe everything to how I am as a business owner to him and his forever dedicated wife: Diane.
Thank you Gary for a legacy for so many.
You will live forever in my heart and with such gratitude.
Rest easy knowing you left a mark on so many and will never be forgotten. ❤️

I've known Gary for over 30 years, for the greater part of my life a Palmiere was the only person who cut my hair. I could call Gary rolling out of bed in the morning for a hair cut, and never once did he say no, can you come tomorrow, how about 11 oclock. Never, he only said, can you get here in 10 minutes. Which I always could, I lived 5 minutes away from tangles. Like any good barber, he always had some story, or some gossip, or something I could learn from. When he decided to sell Tangles, I was a man without a Barber, but thankfully his son, who I've known since we were kids at Christ the King opened his own shop. We send all of my love and prayers to the Palmiere family.

He was the family rebel, who at 16 went to California by himself. Fortunately, we had a relative there and he stayed with an aunt who was a hairdresser to the movie stars. This would influence his whole life. He came home and went to the Continental School of Beauty. He and two friends opened Shear Ego which was a huge success. He loved golf and played frequently. However, he was not the best athlete in the family. He put family and friends before everything. He called his shots even at the end. He will be sadly missed
