Mary Lipani

Obituary of Mary L. Lipani

Irondequoit- Peacefully surrounded by her children Friday, September 13, 2024 at the age of 90.  Mary is survived by her children, Jean (Tomas) Hernandez, Kathi (James) Scibilia, Linda (Rodney Gates) Lipani, Mary Ann (Martin) Sample, Walter Lipani, and Wendy (James) Spencer; grandsons, Corey Scibilia and Tomas Hernandez Jr.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

A beloved mother, mother in law, grandmother, aunt, cousin and dear friend.  She was a beacon of light and the center of her children’s life. She was filled with love, kindness and generosity, forever young at heart. Loved and never forgotten by everyone she met.

Despite her struggles over the past six months after a long and challenging illness, she remained joyful, continuing to smile, laugh, shop online for clothes and shoes, do crafts, and chat about cooking and baking for her family. She never missed a chance to tell us how much she loved us, and we loved her deeply in return.

Our light and joy, a precious gift from God, is now in Heaven, at peace and free from pain.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, September 22, 1-4pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to meet the family Monday, September 23, 10:00am at St. Kateri at St Margaret Mary Church for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. .
