What great memories of have of the library years I worked with Bob. He loved what he did and cared about the people that worked for him. He was considerate and compassionate.
He treated us the way he wanted to be treated. I learned a lot from him and forever he will be in my heart. Now he is in God's hands and not suffering anymore. Maybe I will see him one day in heaven.
Love Always, Ann Marie Capuano-Keeley

Bob was truly a great person to know. We met many years ago at the Rundel Library when he hired me as a clerk in the Catalog Department. Our work group formed many friendships that have lasted decades and he was part of our close knit group.
He brightened our work days with his great sense of humor. His laugh was contagious. We were fortunate to have enjoyed his company at many gatherings outside of work as well.
I am grateful to have known the kind and gentle soul he was.
Rest in peace, my friend.
I will always remember you.
Irene

I have such fond memories of working for Bob in the Catalog Dept. We were truly a family back then, something this library has lost through the years. Bob always treated us with respect and knew how to get the most out of his employees. He really made you want to do a good job and acknowledged you for it. After he retired he always stopped to see me when he visited the library. I will truly miss those visits. Love ya, Bob!

Bob was the best boss I ever had. I first met Bob in 1974 when he hired me to work in Processing. A few years later he brought me up to work in Catalog where I met some life-long friends.
He was the kind of boss that left you alone to do your job. He never micro-managed us, consequently I think we all did the best job we could to thank him for treating us so great.
He used to call me "Midge" (it means "gnat" - which he equated to being a "pest" (go figure)
My heart is very sad at Bob's passing, but he left us with some wonderful, wonderful memories.
Thanks Bob - I'll miss you.

Bob was such an excellent role model for being a good supervisor and being a good librarian. He was so respected nationally as an authority on cataloging. Working with him was a learning experience that has influenced me to this day. I feel his absence.

Bob was a caring, non judgmental man. He was an avid reader and always had many stories to tell. It is with great sadness I say goodbye to him.
