I wish I could have been there today but I will be lighting a candle in honor of Ivar. I have many memories that replay in my mind of Ivar over the time we had spent together. He loved to tell stories about his family, friends, and the people he worked with. He was always so well put together, easy going, welcoming & warm, musically talented...he was amazing. Years ago my parents volunteered me to stain Ivar's back deck for him but little did I know that would be the start of a great friendship between us. After the deck was done I'd come by once a week to mow the lawn and visit, along with other drop in days of the week (except mondays-that was reserved for a different close friend of Ivar's) I always looked forward to seeing him. I'd like to share- On one of my drop ins to visit Ivar with my brother, his wife and all the kids, Ivar informed me that he was celebrating him and his wife's wedding anniversary...after all those years...wow-what a loving man. He was smiling but I could tell she was heavy on his mind and he was missing her. We all really enjoyed the evening and the good company. As much as he is missed it makes me smile to think about him being reunited with his wife and those people who have went before him. I am so blessed to have been able to get to know this wonderful man. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless...until we meet again. Good bye for now my friend. We love you.
