Rocky and Tony, I wish I had caught this before. I am sorry to have missed Father Ceretto's calling hours and funeral. My AQ days would not have been the same without him. He had to be one of the most well-liked and respected teachers. Mine and Stacy's condolences to you and your family.

Fr. Cerretto was my first principal when I was a Basilian teaching associate back in the '90's at Andrean High School. I remember his support of me as I made the choice of where to teach and how. I enjoyed serving with him, and he left an impression I want to share. One year a student of mine, in 10th grade, was going to have to leave the school because her family could no longer afford to pay the tuition. After Christmas vacation I saw the young lady in school and asked the Business Office about it. I was told that Michael had arranged for the tuition to be paid from his salary. The young lady graduated two years later.

Father Cerretto was one of the first people I me when I started Aquinas. He taught me to always demand the best of my self. He was a great teacher, who helped shape a lot of successful lives. RIP father.

I would like to wish the Cerretto family my deepest sympathy. Michael was a dear friend who shared all of our family events with us throughout the years. He was the principal to both of my children at Andrean and a special friend to Sam my deceased husband. We had so many great dinners and masses on Saturday nights that I will always treasure the memories. I know that he is with God and Sam now. My love and prayers to all of you. Cindy

I met Father Cerretto before he was ordained. I was a new student at Aquinas Institute, our 1st day of school was 9-8-1965 and Fr. Cerretto was our Latin teacher. As it turned out, Father Cerretto graduated with my brother at Aq. in 1958. Latin left an imprint on my mind, I can still conjugate town (oppidim) and war (bellium) and I still have my Latin textbooks. Father Cerretto, thank you for your great teaching skills. steve d

Father Michael was a wonderful priest but more than that a great friend, always caring, and went out of his way to make us welcome in his home. We had dinner at his house a couple of times and he and I would go out to eat breakfast occasionally. He put me to work in different projects with remodeling his home and was always grateful for the service. He would frequently call to ask if I would accompany him to mass in the different parishes where he served and especially to the Carmelite Convent near Mesilla, NM. He was so concerned for them, he would ask me what kind of groceries he could buy to donate and when he could not take them personally would call on me to deliver them. He blessed countless religious articles for me. For the last year I went daily to check on him. He called the week before his passing and said he was thinking of me. I am sure going to miss him.

Fr. Cerretto was one of the best teachers I ever had, and one of the best teachers at Andrean HS. He was never too busy for us, forgave us often, and took teaching very seriously. He had such a positive impact on me that I asked him to be the officiant at my wedding. He was highly intelligent, and I will miss his humor.

Father Mike Cerretto, CSB, Rochester, Toronto, Sugar Land, Las Cruces, ... wherever, whenever you were called, you answered, you went, you labored in the vineyard of the Lord, and always, always, you did more than your share, perhaps earning an extra bit of grace for us who knew you, loved you, on this Earth. So sorry to hear about Mike. I was with him at Aquinas the class of 58. I remember as a very smart and great guy. We the class of 58 are proud of his wonderful leadership and service for the Lord .May God Bless Him.
