Our deepest condolences, Ed was a wonderful man he will be forever missed. It was always pleasant to be able to socialize with him at the train shows, he shared a lot of interesting stories and had many wonderful insights on an array of topics. He loved his trains and was devoted to his family. Still can't get over the shock of this news, but he will but thought of at every train show, it will never be the same. May God be with all of his family through this tragic time, you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I remember The W sign in there driveway, and I remember Ed explaining to me what it meant , we both had a passion for trains, when I was about 12 we used to go on bike rides together in durand park, and I always enjoyed talking to him as a child.

I am sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. I grew up next door to him and his parents, after they moved their house onto the adjacent lot. He was nine years older than me so when I was a kid we never did play together. I moved back to Irondequoit in 1986 and back into the house I grew up in, next to where he used to live, but his parents had already moved to coastal South Carolina or Georgia, I believe. I know a family who had daughters older than me and just in October of this year I was talking to one of them and she said Eddie still lived in Irondequoit. I intended to look him up, but, well... It was surely my loss.
I remember him walking out to his car along the road when I was a little kid, and I still picture him with his lopping gate and baggy blue jeans, with his head always down. I can see where he could become an engineer, both the mechanical and locomotive kind.

What a wonderful neighbor, and friend. I always looked forward to seeing if Ed was in the yard when I walked the dog. Always interesting conversation, and always a dog biscuit for Benny. Ed cared about how all the neighbors were doing, especially the kids.
You will be missed by all.
Rest in Peace Ed.

Dear Mrs. Davis:
I was deeply saddened to read of Ed's passing. For all the years I was the secretary for the Irondequoit Conservation Board when Ed was there, I could always count on him to spice up our meetings. His knowledge of "Old" Irondequoit was, at times, invaluable when we were checking out properties or areas of environmental concern. Ed was able to give the Board insight of what was where, when. His pointed sense of humor and his straightforward way of expressing himself were truly Ed. You always knew where you stood with him. I loved hearing about the trips the two of you used to take and the fascinating things you saw. His descriptive narratives almost made me feel that I was there seeing what he saw. He was a man of many talents and no nonsense opinions. I learned a lot from Ed about how to look at things, many of those lessons, I still carry with me today. My life was made better because I was blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Heaven is one star brighter because of him.

There are no words to say how bad we feel or how much he will be missed. I 'll remember his goofy laugh and corny jokes forever, and their love story.
