Capobianco, Lucille A

Penfield: Lucille was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 19th, 1927. She passed away peacefully at the age of 94 in Rochester, NY on Sunday, February 6th, 2022. She is predeceased by her parents, Anthony Fischette & Lucy Fischette, and her loving husband, Charles Capobianco. She is survived by her son, Paul Capobianco, her grandson Evan, close friends, and many cousins. Lucille attended St. Francis Academy for Elementary and High School. She attended Cumberland Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in Nursing, and received her Master's from St. John's University in Brooklyn. She shared her skills and love for serving others through her work at Methodist Hospital, where she was a Head Nurse Supervisor in Pediatrics. She later worked at Rochester General Hospital as a Clinical Supervisor and instructor in the Nursing School and an administrative assistant in the Nursing Office. After a few years leave, Lucille returned as the first Infection Control Nurse in the city of Rochester and also worked with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Lucille was an active member and volunteer of the YMCA for over 20 years. She belonged to the Casa Italiana at Nazareth College and the Italian Women's Club. She loved cooking and travel, playing cards and having a full house around her dinner table. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Sterns Low Vision Center (ABVI- Goodwill) 422 South Clinton Ave, Rochester NY, 14620 or American Red Cross of Greater Rochester, P.O. Box 96454, Washington D.C., 20090-6454. Friends are invited to meet the family Friday, February 11, 10:00 am at St. John The Evangelist Church Humboldt St. for her funeral mass.
